Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival
Entering its seventh season, the nationally renowned Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival showcases world-class chamber music to the general public, students and senior citizens of Amelia Island and surrounding area of northeastern Florida. The 2008 season of The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival will open Friday, May 30 and run through Sunday, June 15. Sounds on Centre
The Historic Fernandina Business Association is proud to present SOUNDS ON CENTRE. This free community concert is held the First Friday of each month from March through October in the historic downtown on Centre Street between 2nd & Front from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. "Amelia's Young Explorer Camp"
Come and play on Amelia Island with the naturalists of Amelia Island Plantation. Discover local wildlife in their natural habitats. Beach exploration, seining, marsh walks, nature crafts, games, and more! Snack provided daily. Free Summer Children's Craft Program
The Amelia Island Museum of History will present a storytelling and craft program for children ages 5-7 from 11am to 12pm every Tuesday from June 10-August 12. This free community programs will lead children into the lives of the Timucua Indians, the first inhabitants of Florida--a journey of more than 4,000 years. Each week's story-time will be followed by a different age-appropriate craft project.

Salt Cooking School
The first day features a "behind the scenes" tour of the resort's kitchens, including the pastry shop, butcher shop and garde manger kitchen, which gives the participants a glimpse into the inner workings of a 444-room resort and an understanding of the various responsibilities of the 45 member culinary team. Students then work with Chef Richard Gras and his team to prepare all the elements of a four-course luncheon, which is served family style and paired with a selection of fine wines.

On the second day, participants build on their newly acquired skills as they prepare a complete gourmet feast and dine again with the chef. The cooking school concludes with the presentation of diplomas and exchange of phone numbers among new friends.

The Amelia Island Museum of History presents "Remembering the Post Office on Centre" exhibit
The Amelia Island Museum of History will feature the exhibit "Remembering the Post Office on Centre" in the first floor Gaslight Gallery through September 28. The exhibit features a series of 30 archival photographs documenting the historic building from excavation to completion, artifacts on loan from Postmaster Ron Steedley, and clips of oral history projected on a large screen. Nassau Sport Fishing Association's Kingfish Tournament of Champions
Nassau Sport Fishing Association's Kingfish Tournament of Champions Challenging participants' fishing prowess, one of the largest events on the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail, the NSFA's Tournament of Champions attracts the world's best kingfish anglers to Amelia Island. This year the anglers will compete for cash prizes totaling over $75,000. This three-day event includes a Saturday fish fry, awards ceremony - with free performance from The Finesse Band - and other festivities.
