| Free Summer Children's Craft Program The Amelia Island Museum of History will present a storytelling and craft program for children ages 5-7 from 11am to 12pm every Tuesday from June 10-August 12. This free community programs will lead children into the lives of the Timucua Indians, the first inhabitants of Florida--a journey of more than 4,000 years. | The Amelia Island Museum of History presents "Remembering the Post Office on Centre" exhibit The Amelia Island Museum of History will feature the exhibit "Remembering the Post Office on Centre" in the first floor Gaslight Gallery through September 28. The exhibit features a series of 30 archival photographs documenting the historic building from excavation to completion, artifacts on loan from Postmaster Ron Steedley, and clips of oral history projected on a large screen. A growing portion of the Amelia Island Museum of History?s archives, including the full collection of Post Office photographs, can now be viewed online: www.ameliamuseum.org. | Fort Clinch Union Garrison Living history interpreters recreate life at Fort Clinch during the War between the States. | Salt Cooking School The first day features a "behind the scenes" tour of the resort's kitchens, including the pastry shop, butcher shop and garde manger kitchen which gives the participants a glimpse into the inner workings of a 444-room resort and an understanding of the various responsibilities of the 45 member culinary team. Students then work with Chef Richard Gras and his team to prepare all the elements of a four-course luncheon, which is served family style and paired with a selection of fine wines. On the second day, participants build on their newly acquired skills as they prepare a complete gourmet feast and dine again with the chef. The cooking school concludes with the presentation of diplomas and exchange of phone numbers among new friends.
