Discover Nature with a Ranger Program Series
Fort George Island Cultural State Park
Monday March 31st through Friday April 4th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Join a park ranger to discover "All the Small Things" in this five day microbiology program series for kids 6 to 12 years of age. The programs will take place at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island and parents must accompany children at all times. Children and parents should bring bug spray, water, and closed toes shoes.  The program is free but space is limited. To reserve a spot please call the Ranger Station at (904) 251-2320.

Sounds on Centre
The Historic Fernandina Business Association is proud to present SOUNDS ON CENTRE. This free community concert is held the First Friday of each month from March through October in the historic downtown on Centre Street between 2nd & Front from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. This month's band is Chain of Fools so bring a chair, your dancing shoes (just in case) and a smile and song in your heart.

Secrets of the Salt marsh at Fort George Island Cultural State Park
Join a park ranger and discover the importance of estuarine systems that surround the inshore sides of barrier islands like those of the Talbot Islands State Parks complex. This ranger-guided hike along the salt marsh will help point out why these areas are one of the most productive ecosystems on Earth, the many roles the salt marsh plays, the plant and animal life found in this natural community, and the impacts humans have on this system. Meet at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island at 10:30 a.m.. Bug spray and a water bottle are recommended. No reservations are necessary and the program is free. Fort Clinch Union Garrison
Living history interpreters recreate life at Fort Clinch during the War between the States. Activities may include powder artillery demonstrations, marching drills, as well as soldiers and civilians taking up duty in the laundry, infirmary and kitchen. For details call (904) 277-7274.

The Bausch & Lomb Championships is a premier women's professional tennis tournament part of the worldwide Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. In 2008, the tournament returns for a 29th consecutive year to the oceanfront resort of Amelia Island Plantation.

Talbot Critters at Little Talbot Island State Park
Join a park ranger for an educational presentation on the animals that inhabit the barrier island natural communities, including the beach, sand dunes, oak hammock, and estuarine marsh. The program will take place at pavilion 6 on Little Talbot Island starting at 1 p.m.. No reservations are necessary and the program is free with admission to the park. Katie Ride for Life Organ Donor Awareness Cycling Event
The Katie Ride is a cycling event in which all levels of riders may participate to raise awareness of the need for all of us to make an organ donation commitment. Salt Cooking School
The first day features a "behind the scenes" tour of the resort?s kitchens, including the pastry shop, butcher shop and garde manger kitchen which gives the participants a glimpse into the inner workings of a 444-room resort and an understanding of the various responsibilities of the 45 member culinary team. Students then work with Chef Richard Gras and his team to prepare all the elements of a four-course luncheon, which is served family style and paired with a selection of fine wines.

On the second day, participants build on their newly acquired skills as they prepare a complete gourmet feast and dine again with the chef. The cooking school concludes with the presentation of diplomas and exchange of phone numbers among new friends.

Beach Walk at Little Talbot Island State Park
Join a park ranger for a walk on the beach as they explain the importance of undeveloped beach habitat, including many interesting facts about sea creatures and common shells found in the area. Signature Wine Dinner at Salt
Join Chef de Cuisine Richard Gras for a signature wine dinner at Salt at 6 p.m. Wine experts will be on hand to discuss the selected wines' unique characteristics and answer questions, for a truly fascinating dining experience. Served with a seven-course tasting menu designed to complement the featured vintage, the dinners are as entertaining as they are exquisite. Reservations are required, as space is limited.
